The Facts:
Vinatieri might be less than 100 percent, but he's the only place-kicker on the Indianapolis Colts' roster. The team waived Shane Andrus on Saturday evening. "We were hopeful he'd make it, but that didn't happen," said Ferrell Elliott, Andrus' agent.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Rosters had to be cut to 53 Saturday, but the Colts did not announce the nearly two dozen player moves they were required to make, Andrus' release -- as confirmed by his agent -- might indicate Vinatieri will be ready for the Sept. 10 season opener. He missed the final three preseason games with a sprained ligament and chipped bone in his left foot. It's also possible the team will sign Andrus to its practice squad. He could be signed to the active roster later if Vinatieri is not ready.
