The Facts:
Bill Cowher decided to keep four halfbacks instead of three on the 53-man roster after the Steelers picked up rookie Patrick Cobbs from the Patriots. What Cowher has not decided is whether Cobbs or Staley will suit up on game days. He has settled on Verron Haynes as the No. 2 halfback behind starter Willie Parker. Haynes also will remain the third-down back.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
"The one and two roles are certainly Willie Parker and Verron Haynes," Cowher said, "and then we'll see where we are with Patrick and Duce as it relates to the game-day roster. That's always a tricky thing." Since there is no room on the 45-man game-day roster for four halfbacks, that means Staley could spend the 2006 season much the way he did 2005, standing on the sideline in a sweat suit.
