The Facts:
Portis didn't practice Tuesday, and his availability for Monday night's regular-season opener against Minnesota remains uncertain. Portis, who partially dislocated his shoulder in the preseason opener, was the only player not on the field at the start of the workout but arrived to watch before it was over.

The players will have off Wednesday, followed by three days of full practice Thursday through Saturday. "He is still day to day," Gibbs said. "He had a real good day in the weight room and rehab also. He is doing a real good job with it and will continue to expand what he is doing. It's still day to day, though. He feels like he is making good progress." For the record, Ladell Betts will get the start if Portis can't go.
