Bell isn't sure how he suffered the compound fracture of his right middle finger, only that it came when he was trying to pass block Rams Leonard Little in Sunday's loss. But he's not going to let a little finger injury keep him on the sideline this week. He'll simply tape it up like he did against St. Louis. "I had to suck it up, this isn't college, it's the NFL," Bell said. "I can play."

Mike Shanahan agree. "The bone came out and the fingernail came up, but it looked like it went back in place," the coach said of Bell's injury. "He should be able to go. ..." However, Mike Bell will continue to work off the bench; Tatum Bell will start against the Chiefs this weekend.
