The Facts:
Linehan is en route to Miami this afternoon to interview for the Dolphins' open offensive coordinator position. Dolphins coach Nick Saban sought and received permission Tuesday morning to speak with Linehan, whose contract expires Jan. 31. The Dolphins reportedly consider Linehan a top candidate for the job and are in position to dramatically increase his $300,000 salary.

Head coach Mike Tice and quarterback Daunte Culpepper made impassioned pleas Monday to spur the organization to keep Linehan, but as of Tuesday the team had not made an offer and owner Red McCombs doesn't sound like a man ready to go out of his way to keep the coordinator.
