The announcement was made by head caoch Herman Edwards, who told reporters: "Looking at what we need to do to move forward, Paul recognized that a change needed to be made for a number of different reasons. We will now begin the process of identifying and interviewing candidates for the position with the goal of increasing our offensive productivity and consistency."
