Houston injured his left knee on a goal-line run against the Colts. He left the stadium on crutches, his knee in a brace. Eric Mangini declined to comment on the severity of the injury.

It could be a tough blow to the Jets. Houston started the second half, replacing starter Kevan Barlow, and finished with 49 yards on 12 carries. Houston had a 13-yard gain, the team's longest of the season. Barlow (two touchdowns) and rookie Leon Washington alternated for the remainder of the game, with Washington (33 yards on nine rushes) providing some life. The Jets rushed for a season-high 135 yards, but it came against the NFL's 27th-ranked run defense.
