The Facts:
The Redskins settled Tuesday afternoon on Novak as the replacement for ailing kicker John Hall. If he passes a physical exam, Washington will sign the former University of Maryland star before Wednesday's practice, league sources said.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
It was not immediately clear how Hall's situation will be resolved. ESPN.com first reported on Monday that Hall's job was in jeopardy, despite the fact he had converted 9-of-11 field-goal attempts in the first five games of the season. But the 10-year veteran is said to be suffering from a possible quadriceps strain and, despite the frustration of some team officials with him, the Redskins might be forced to place Hall on the injured reserve list.
