The tumultuous relationship between the Browns and Garcia ended Monday when the veteran quarterback was released. Garcia signed a four-year deal with the team last March but his short stay was marred by injuries and very public struggles with the team’s offensive system and direction. Garcia started 10 games last season, completing 144-of-252 passes for 1,731 yards, 10 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

Although the team's "big-picture" personnel plans are still being formulated, new GM Phil Savage said over the weekend that Kelly Holcombe could return. "Kelly would like to come back to the Browns, and I think the feeling will be mutual," Savage said. "That's something on the horizon."
