The Facts:
McNair has yet to announce if he's playing next season, but the quarterback is restructuring his contract to help the Titans get below the salary cap. McNair and the Titans have swapped proposals that could save the team more than $5 million against the salary cap. The Titans are $27 million over the cap and have to be under it by March 1.

Last season, McNair began hinting that he may retire. But he's been upbeat since sternum surgery in December, and gave a thumbs-up to new offensive coordinator Norm Chow. McNair's agent, Bus Cook, said the quarterback still hasn't made up his mind. ... Nonetheless, McNair is clearly laying the groundwork necessary to make at least one more run at the Super Bowl.
