The Facts:
Sockey suffered a compound dislocation of his left ring finger in warmups while catching a pass from Eli Manning. He needed stitches in the finger before the game and had his hand numbed so he could play, but he didn't miss a beat. Shockey had five catches for 39 yards, getting involved in the short passing game early.

An impressive sacrifice. ... "It still is [numb]," Shockey said after losing to the Titans. "It's frightening, seeing the bone come out of your hand. I told [the trainers] to cut it off, whatever, because I'm playing. And I'm also playing next week. ..." That's what we wanted to hear.
