The Facts:
As expected, the Eagles on Wednesday tendered Westbrook, a restricted free agent, a qualifying offer of a one-year contract worth $1.430 million. The Eagles retain a right of first refusal on Westbrook should he sign a deal with another team.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Westbrook has said he wants to negotiate a long-term deal with the Eagles, but team sources indicate that talks so far have not been promising. Meanwhile, team officials have made it clear they'll match any offers and Westbrook is slated to serve as Philadelphia's feature back in '05. It's worth noting, however, that with Correll Buckhalter ready to move on, the club is expected to spend a high draft pick on a running back to complement Westbrook next season -- and possibly to replace him after that.
