The Facts:
So far, the Colts have done made no decisions regarding Mike Vanderjagt, tight end Marcus Pollard or any player under contract for the 2005 season. Tuesday was the first day teams could release players but there have been no cost-cutting moves by the Colts. Vanderjagt hopes the inactivity continues, but understands his name could be announced as such at any time. "I would like to be a Colt, but I understand the business side of it," he said.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Unlike a number of other teams, the Colts do not need to cut players to be in compliance with the 2005 salary cap on March 1, which is expected to be $86 million. But that doesn't mean they won't pare a few veterans from the roster who are deemed too expensive. A decision on Pollard will come sooner rather than later. He's due a $750,000 roster bonus in early March. Vanderjagt prefers a cap-friendly extension. "If they re-sign me," he said, "then I'm going to be a Colt for life, and that excites me."
