Nick Novak was cut by the Redskins on Monday, leaving Shaun Suisham as the team's only kicker despite an inauspicious debut. "Shaun gives us best chance to give us more distance on kickoffs," coach Joe Gibbs said.

Suisham, who missed wide left with his only field goal attempt -- a 50-yarder -- in Sunday's loss to the Falcons, is the 16th kicker the Redskins have used in a regular season game since 1995.
