Browns Give William Green Permission To Seek Trade
(2/25 12:52 PT)

The Facts:
General manager Phil Savage said Friday that the team had given Green permission to work out a trade. Savage said there is no time element on Green working out a deal. He also said if a trade is not agreed to the Browns would welcome Green back. Savage added that the team will retain Dennis Northcutt, who is due a sizeable roster bonus in March. Reported by ClevelandBrowns.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Green played in only seven games due to off-field problems and a league suspension in 2003. Last season, he struggled, gaining 585 yards on 163 carries. In the season's final month, Green mainly watched as Lee Suggs took as the primary ballcarrier. ... For what it's worth, Savage feels good about Suggs as the team's starting back, but he knows no back will perform well without an improved offensive line.
