The Facts:
Brian Billick confirmed during his post-game press conference that X-rays on McNair's injured hand were negative. The coach also suggested that McNair could have thrown the ball if needed but there was some concern about having him take the snap from center.

McNair was replaced by Kyle Boller, who went 13-for-21 for 238 yards. He threw an interception and lost a fumble, but played well enough to prevent Billick from thrusting McNair back into action. ... While Billick was noncommittal when asked if McNair would play this week, NBC's "Football Night America" host Bob Costas advised viewers tonight that McNair would be considered probable this week.
