Brown, who has been given the green light to return to practice for the first time since breaking his left hand last month, expressed confidence that he'd be able to play in Monday's home game against the New York Jets.

Brown, who has missed the last three games since undergoing hand surgery on Nov. 24, had the cast removed Monday morning. Nick Saban, who prefers not to tip his hand on player's availability until he is forced to via the league's injury report on Wednesday, wasn't ready to declare Brown's playing status. ...
