Beating the league's Saturday deadline for signing players to new contracts, and being able to use remaining 2006 salary cap funds for the deals, the Panthers have signed Goings to a three-year extension. Financial details were not yet available.

Despite starting only 13 game in 84 appearances, Goings is one of the Panthers' most important role players. The six-year veteran, signed as an undrafted college free agent in 2006, does a little bit of everything for John Fox, and the staff relies on Goings to fill in where needed.
