Tony Gonzalez To Be Franchised?
(1/7 10:58 PT)

The Facts:
Chris Mortensen of ESPN reports the Kansas City Chiefs will place the franchise tag on Gonzalez if he decides to void his current contract and become a free agent. Reported by the Red Zone

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Typically, the franchise tender for tight ends is generally low but in this case the Chiefs will be required to pay Gonzalez almost $8 million since his current salary cap number is about $6.5 million. Gonzalez played in 15 games for the Chiefs in 2006 with 73 receptions for 900 yards and five touchdowns.
