As expected, the New York Giants promoted QBs coach Kevin Gilbride to offensive coordinator on Thursday.

Gilbride has served as the quarterbacks coach for the last three seasons under Tom Coughlin. After the Giants slipped to 7-8 this past season, Coughlin stripped offensive coordinator John Hufnagel of his play-calling duties and handed them to Gilbride. The Giants responded to the move by scoring 34 points in a win at Washington. Gilbride again called the plays the following week in a 23-20 loss at Philadelphia in an NFC wild card game.
