Battle had surgery to remove the screws and some scar tissue in his left hand. He should be ready to go for the team's first mini-camp, which is scheduled for the weekend after the draft.

Battle broke his hand in the 49ers' Nov. 12 game at Detroit but did not miss any action. He underwent surgery Nov. 21 to insert two small screws into his hand and still played the next game at St. Louis. Recent reports indicate the Niners will be looking to acquire a new No. 1 WR this offseason with Antonio Bryant expected to slip back to the No. 2 spot and Battle to the No. 3.
