The Facts:
Bettis accepted a reduced contract over the weekend but might not decide until June whether he will play next season. "It's still, for me, not a done deal in that sense," Bettis told a local TV station in an interview on camera from his new home in Atlanta.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
By waiting until June 1, Bettis leaves the Steelers in a bind. Duce Staley remains their starter, but Verron Haynes is a restricted free agent and Willie Parker, an undrafted rookie in 2004, is their only other back. ... For what it's worth, if he returns, Bettis will start 2005 the way he did '04 -- coming off the bench in relief of Staley and in goal-line situations.
