The Facts:
Rivers won't play in the Pro Bowl because of a foot injury. Chargers spokesman Bill Johnston said Tuesday that Rivers sprained his right foot against the Arizona Cardinals on Dec. 31 and aggravated it in the Chargers' 24-21 playoff loss to New England.

The team decided it's best if Rivers stays off the foot, Johnston said. The Chargers are still sending a league-high nine players to the Pro Bowl, including LaDainian Tomlinson, who suggested after a Divisional Playoff loss two weeks ago that what he perceived to be a lack of class demonstrated by the Patriots might come from Bill Belichick. The Patriots head coach will lead the AFC's Pro Bowl squad this year.
