Favre said Tuesday night he hasn't made a decision about whether he will play next season, but he expected to speak with Mike McCarthy soon to discuss his future. "There's not really (a timetable)," said Favre. "I said after the last game (Dec. 31) that I'd decide within two weeks, but I probably jumped the gun when I said that.

The veteran QB added: "I don't want to drag this out as long as I did last year. ..." Let's hope not. Last year, Favre waited until the week of the NFL draft in April before announcing he would return for a 16th NFL season.
