Favre reached out to coach Mike McCarthy, but did not provide an answer as to whether he will come back next season. "He was power-washing the driveway when I talked to him," McCarthy said Tuesday.

There has been a lot of speculation and rumor regarding Favre's future, and some are under the assumption he will make a decision this week or next on whether to return. But McCarthy said nothing Favre said led him to think a decision was imminent and, as far as he's concerned, that's not a problem. ... Meanwhile, the consensus says Favre's decision will be based more on family and off-field issues than his ability to continue playing at a high level -- something all involved seem to take as a given.
