The Facts:
Less than a year after successfully negotiating a collective bargaining agreement, NFL Players Association executive director Gene Upshaw has been rewarded with a contract extension through 2010.

Upshaw has served as the NFLPA executive director since June 1983. Last March, he succeeded in reaching agreement with former NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue on a six-year extension of the CBA, which raised the salary cap to $102 million in 2006 and $109 million in 2007.
