Chad Johnson Interviewed In Miami Murder Investigation
(2/2 6:57 PT)

The Facts:
Miami police have spoken to Johnson about a slaying that occurred in Miami last week. Johnson said late Thursday night that he did talk to police about the shooting last Friday of Curtis Tavares Dopson, 27, but that he was questioned because he and Dopson were acquaintances from the same neighborhood growing up. "I don't know anything about (the murder)," Johnson said. "I know of him because that's my area, that's where I grew up. I got the call (from the police) and I rushed down there and talked to them." Reported by the Cincinnati Post

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
The Bengals have had nine players arrested in the past year and even the hint of another one of their players being remotely associated to a crime is unwanted attention. Early today, the Bengals released this statement: "Chad has confirmed to the Club that he cooperated with the Miami Police earlier this week as part of an investigation. Police have characterized this as a routine procedure and have stressed that Chad is not a suspect or even a person of interest in this case. Given that, we see no cause to comment further. ..." We'll continue to monitor this one while hoping the Bengals have no reason to comment further.
