The Facts:
According to ESPNews, Sean Payton told reporters Brees won't need surgery on his left (non-throwing) elbow after dislocating the joint in the first quarter of Saturday's Pro Bowl game in Hawaii. The NFL Network confirms that report and adds the injury will require a 6-8 week recovery period.

The good news? Obviously the fact Brees was hurt in February works in his favor as does the fact he won't need surgery. That said, there are no good injuries and that might be even more true of those suffered in a meaningless all-star game. It's also worth noting this is the second year in a row that Brees, who finished last season with a torn rotator cuff in his throwing shoulder, closes out with a significant injury.
