The day after the Super Bowl, a notice was sent to NFL teams on the personnel wire that Bryant, who served two games of a four-game suspension last December, had been reinstated from the reserve/suspended list by the commissioner.

What exactly does this mean? Press-Democrat staffer Matt Maiocco checked with the 49ers and they informed him that Bryant will still serve two more regular-season games to complete the four-game suspension. He was removed from the suspended list so he could take part in the team's offseason program, training camp and exhibition games. Then, he will return to the list for the first two games of the regular season.
