The Facts:
After a series of delays, a hearing will finally be held May 11 as the Lions try to recover $10 million in signing bonuses paid to Rogers. The Lions contend that Rogers breached his contract when he was suspended for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
As MLive.com's Tom Kowalski suggests, it's going to be tricky for the Lions to win the case because the new CBA forbids teams from recouping bonuses in those situations (the Lions filed a grievance under the terms of the old CBA). Even if the Lions do win the case, getting cap relief will be extremely difficult because the money must actually be collected from Rogers before it can count against the cap. And, even if the Lions finally do manage to squeeze some money out of Rogers, the relief doesn't hit the cap until the year after it was collected.
