The Raiders announced Thursday they would not pick up the option on Brooks, who was due a $5 million roster bonus in March. The veteran QB will become an unrestricted free agent on March 2. Reported by the Oakland Tribune

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Assuming Marques Tuiasosopo is headed for free agency and does not re-sign with the club, it leaves Andrew Walter as the only quarterback with any playing experience on the roster. And as NFL Network insider Adam Schefter suggested, it's a pretty good indication the team will go with a quarterback -- mostly likely LSU's JaMarcus Russell -- with the first pick overall in April's NFL Draft.
