The Facts:
Taylor plans to end his career in Jacksonville, signing a three-year contract extension Thursday that could keep the 31-year-old running back with the Jaguars through the 2010 season. Agent Drew Rosenhaus said the four-year deal totaled $23 million.

Although the emergence of rookie Maurice Jones-Drew led to speculation that the Jags might part ways with Taylor, it would appear the Jaguars' success with the two men sharing time was a factor in keeping Taylor. That said, it remains to be seen how the workload will be split this year. It seems a bit premature to assume Taylor will open camp as the de facto starter given Jones-Drew's impressive rookie campaign. ... Stay tuned.
