The 49ers announced Thursday that Bryant has been waived. Said Mike Nolan, "After an evaluation period we determined that Antonio was not the best fit for the 49ers. I appreciated his work ethic this past year and wish him the best on his next endeavor."

Bryant is a five year NFL veteran who has played with Cowboys and the Browns prior to joining the 49ers. He has a history of attitude and behavioral issues and just served half of a four-game suspension the last two weeks of the '06 season. He must sit out the first two games this fall regardless of where he's playing.
