The Facts:
Duckett is expected to visit the Lions this weekend, but speculation that it means Tatum Bell isn't wanted or could be traded is off base. The Lions have been horrible in short-yardage situations for the last several years and Duckett is the guy who can help fix that. He'd have a definite role on the team and it wouldn't be to replace Bell.

According to Booth Newspapers and MLive.com beat man Tom Kowalski, the Lions love Bell's speed and believe he's the ideal guy to not only serve as insurance for Kevin Jones, but to play alongside him when he's healthy. Bell can't run with any power between the tackles and Jones, while he can be a punishing runner in space, isn't really a short-yardage guy. Also, Jones is expected to return a little lighter than he was before his injury.
