People wouldn't believe the reports Plummer had retired, so Plummer had to say it himself. The Broncos QB formally posted his retirement announcement Saturday night on his website,
JakePlummerFoundation.org. "Football has been awesome to me in many ways. I leave the game with my health and happiness, and look forward to the future," Plummer said in a statement.

Plummer reportedly filed retirement papers with the NFL office late Friday. ... So much for speculation that assumed Plummer was trying to pull a fast one by using his retirement as a tactical maneuver to force a trade somewhere other than to Tampa Bay, and to a situation where he has a greater chance to start. But according to Post staffer MikeKlis, there should be no more mixed signals. Plummer is finished with football. ... We shall see.
