The Facts:
Nedney, released by the Titans last month, worked out for the 49ers yesterday. Last night his agent told the San Francisco Chronicle that Nedney had accepted the team's contract offer and had called the Titans to let them know. Todd Peterson, who kicked for the 49ers last season, signed with the Falcons last week.

Nedney was signed by the Titans in 2001 but he missed the past two seasons with injuries, including a hamstring injury that put him on injured reserve in '04. Because of his high salary cap figure and his injury history, he was one of six players released by the team last month.
