The Facts:
Reuben Droughns, the newest Giant, is looking forward to a
running back competition this summer that he said "the best man is going to win." According to Jacobs, the best man already has. "I think I've earned the opportunity to be the main guy," Jacobs told the Daily News yesterday. "I think I'm most definitely going to get my opportunity to carry 20-25 times per game. I can't wait."

He's right. Jacobs will absolutely get every opportunity to prove he's ready to handle a featured role. Jacobs certainly believes he's ready to shed the short-yardage role which led to only 96 carries (and 423 yards) last season. And he's been working hard in the offseason with Tiki Barber's old trainer, Joe Carini, to make sure he's ready for the increased load.
