The Facts:
The Bengals would neither confirm nor deny a report that the second-year tailback-to-be has another sports hernia that will require additional surgery. Head coach Marvin Lewis doesn't provide injury updates in the offseason and Bengals spokesman Jack Brennan had no comment about a story on
Profootballtalk.com that cited an NFL source as saying Perry "needs surgery for yet another sports hernia."

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
A training camp holdout, coupled with a hamstring injury and sports hernia, limited Perry to just two games last season. The resulting dearth of playing time made it impossible for team officials to find out whether the former first-round draft pick is truly capable of emerging as a viable, long-term alternative to Rudi Johnson, who signed his one year tender offer as the team's franchise free agent, last week.
