The Facts:
Now that the Broncos have matched their $12.5 million offer (including a $2.5 million signing bonus) for Putzier, the Jets' attempt to engineer a trade for him have also missed the mark. The two sides tried to work out a trade, but the Broncos asked for a high draft pick -- likely a third or fourth-rounder -- that the Jets would not part with.

According to New York Newsday, there is still
a 24-hour window for the teams to work out a deal. But Putzier's agent, Joe Linta, said yesterday he was almost certain the Broncos will keep Putzier. Recent reports out of New York have stated that veteran free agent Ken Dilger would be of interest should the Putzier deal fall through.
