The Facts:
The Titans will invest $1 million in wide receiver Justin Gage this season, hoping the 6-4, 210-pounder can add a new dimension to a receiving corps in need of help. Gage's one-year contract, agreed on last week, includes a $400,000 signing bonus and a $600,000 base salary, said his agent, Jim Steiner.
Reported by the Nashville Tennessean
Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Steiner said Gage was told he'd have a chance to win a spot in the starting lineup and that Gage hopes to establish himself in Tennessee and re-sign with a long-term deal. Gage fell out of Chicago's plans last season in large part because Muhsin Muhammad filled the big receiver need. Steiner said that while much is made of Gage's size, it's hardly his only attribute. "He's also faster than most people think. He ran a sub-4.5 (40-yard dash) when he came out; he has pretty good hands; and he can play special teams," Steiner said. ... There's certainly an opportunity in Tennessee.
