The Chiefs are asking a second-round pick plus another undetermined pick as compensation for Green and that is the reason the Dolphins have not acquired the veteran quarterback. The Dolphins have offered a seventh-round pick for Green.

According to Herald staffer Armando Salguero, the Dolphins continue to discuss acquiring free agent QB David Carr, who could be signed without draft choice compensation. Dolphins GM Randy Mueller was scheduled to arrive in Phoenix for the NFL Owners meeting late last night and will spend part of the next few days trying to work out a deal for a new QB. Chiefs GM Carl Peterson told Salguero he would speak with Mueller when he arrives. ... Stay tuned.
