A league source tells us that the Dolphins front office currently is split on the question of whether to sign free-agent QB David Carr, or to continue to pursue a trade with the Chiefs for Trent Green. The source also says that Carr's first choice for his first post-Texan team is the Dolphins.

And as PFT editor Mike Florio suggest, Carr could end up being the guy, given the reports that Kansas City wants a second-round pick plus another pick as compensation for Green, who is likely to be cut if a deal isn't consummated. That said, Chiefs GM Carl Peterson doesn't seem to be in a rush to get a deal done with Miami and plans to discuss with the Lions this week. Green and Detroit OC Mike Martz spent time together in St. Louis. ... Also worth noting: The Kansas City Start notes that Peterson has a history of taking predraft trades to the deadline. ...
