Chiefs GM Carl Peterson acknowledged that there have been trade talks with Lions president Matt Millen regarding Trent Green, but the strongest discussions remain with the Dolphins. Still, the Lions are committed to Jon Kitna as their starter.

Peterson spoke with Millen on Friday, and there will be more talks this week during the league meetings, Peterson said. "He called Friday and said if I haven't done anything (with Green), he'd like to talk," Peterson said of Millen. Said Millen: "He said we'll get together. We'll get together. ..." And again, we can't help but wonder if the Lions interest isn't meant to give the Dolphins a greater sense of urgency in their trade discussions with Peterson.
