The Facts:
Add Wright to the list of potential candidates for Carolina's backup quarterback job. Although nothing is imminent, league sources said there have been conversations between the Panthers and Wright's agent. The Panthers also have had contact with the agent for Joey Harrington.

According to Observer staffer Pat Yasinskas, the team probably will take its time in choosing a backup quarterback because other candidates could become available down the road. Wright has also been mentioned in connection with the Falcons and was also considered a candidate by the Jets. ... Wright has been in the league eight years and has played for Pittsburgh, Dallas, Baltimore and most recently Cincinnati.
