The Facts:
According to reports, Goodell told representatives of the players' association Tuesday that he is prepared to suspend both Henry and Titans cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones for repeated off-field legal problems. NFLPA chief Gene Upshaw told the Washington Post about Goodell's comments in a phone interview. "None of these cases we're talking about will be a permanent ban," Upshaw said. "I don't think we're at that point yet with these cases. We understand there will be some type of suspension, but not that."

Henry, who met with the commissioner Tuesday, could learn his fate as soon as today or Friday. ... For what it's worth, Upshaw also confirmed that Goodell is also considering the possibility of lifetime banishment for some players under the new policy. But such a ban is not a possibility in Henry's and Jones' cases, said Upshaw.
