According to ESPN insider John Clayton, Oakland has entered into trade negotiations with the Lions for McCown.

McCown, who was of interest to the Raiders before signing with Detroit last season in hopes of being a starter, lost his job early to Jon Kitna. Instead of pouting and sulking, though, McCown was a model teammate to a point where he helped out when the Lions needed someone to run some wide receiver routes. As previously noted, if the Raiders were to land McCown he would compete with Andrew Walter to provide a bridge until a new quarterback -- assuming one is drafted later this month -- is ready.
