The Facts:
An industry source tells us that the San Diego Chargers might be willing to accept a trade proposal for Turner that includes less than a first-round pick. Per the source, G.M. A.J. Smith could be ready to accept a second-round pick this year and a second-round pick or a third-round pick in 2008 for Turner's rights.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Though Turner, an RFA, is tendered at the highest possible level (requiring 1st- and 3rd-round compensation), suitors will be reluctant give up that much for a guy who'll be unrestricted in 2008. According to PFT editor Mike Florio, the thinking is that Smith wants to end up with three picks in the first two rounds of this year's draft. ... Turner, of course, has visited the Titans and Bills this week. We'll remind you that Smith and current Bills GM Marv Levy have worked together in the past, when Smith was director of pro personnel in Buffalo and Levy was head coach.
