The Facts:
Signaling a renewed commitment to Barlow, the 49ers have decided to pay a $6.5 million roster bonus that is due him today, his agent said. Barlow struggled in his first season as the team's featured back, and his lack of effectiveness led to a one-game demotion last season in favor of Maurice Hicks. But
recent rumors that the 49ers might trade Barlow were dismissed by Hendrickson. "They're not paying him $6.5 million just to trade him," Hendrickson. "Kevan's not going anywhere."
