The Facts:
The Vikings filled a void at back-up quarterback today by signing Johnson. The deal is reportedly a 4 year, 6 million dollar contract with a 1.2 million dollar signing bonus. Johnson visited with Vikings officials on Monday, the same day former backup Gus Frerotte reached an agreement in principle to join the Miami Dolphins.

Johnson's return to Minnesota his career full circle in his 14th season as a pro. He was drafted in the ninth round by the Vikings in 1992. ... For what it's worth, Daunte Culpepper has missed seven games (out of a possible 80) regular-season games since taking over as the starter in 2000.
