EA Sports officially announced last night that Vince Young would grace the cover of the next version of the jinxed popular video game, Madden '08. But multiple industry sources have told me that Tomlinson was asked of his interest, was presented with an offer, and told EA Sports he was not interested.

According to CNBC's Darren Rovel, Tomlinson's decision didn't have much to do with the highly-publicized curse. It has more to do with the fact that the people at EA Sports know that, for many, their cover is seen as the "Wheaties box endorsement" -- in that athletes are usually so honored they are willing to do it for less than market value. Tomlinson wasn't.
